"Internal tech mails": This account is a treasure...
From time to time, one comes across an account that restores my faith and allows me to repeat the boomer joke, “this is why I pay for the internet.”
The account in question, which you really should be following already, on Bluesky, is Internal Tech Emails with the handle @techemails.bsky.social.
It consists of screenshots of actual conversations involving some emblematic BigTech figures that came to light when original documentation was submitted (and later published) in one of the hundreds of legal proceedings these companies face in the U.S.
You are reading ZERO PARTY DATA. The newsletter on current affairs, technopolies, and law by Jorge García Herrero and Darío López Rincón.
In the few spare moments this newsletter leaves us, we enjoy solving complex issues related to personal data protection. If you’ve got one of those, give us a little wave. Or contact us by email at jgh(at)jorgegarciaherrero.com.
The account reproduces these exchanges and even provides the courtesy of linking to the court case and original website.
A treat.
A lurid fantasy.
It has a touch of Succession, a bit of The White Lotus.
It carries the indescribable scent of, damn, reading something that the author never even dreamed you or I would lay eyes on.
It is also a Substack!
You're already late in following it.
Not that interested?
Let me show you a couple of examples:
– Mark Zuckerberg, asking a perfectly normal question to one of his engineers.
– Elon pulling an old school scam on Larry –Oracle– Ellison.
– Argument / exchange between Elon, Ilya Sutskever, and Sam Altman (2017) about the future of OpenAI as a nonprofit.
Bon appetit.
